or something similar to see the photos WelcomeI was contacted to take part in an internet radio interview about a new BBC documentary by Adam Curtis (see below). In the second of the three videos he looks at Systems Theory, seeing it as the basis of the alternative movement by creating a model of systems without the need of leaders. He mistakenly describes complex systems as being able to move to a stable equilibrium state. Also in July was a trip to Brisbane to facilitate an awareness day as a part of the Integral Theosophy and evening talks at three Theosophical society branches on the Sunshine Coast. with Linda Watts from Christchurch. We were very well recieved and so well hosted. We were taken on excursions to Maloolaba, the Chenrezig Tibetan Buddhist Centre, Noosa and Maleny. Best of the NetNot that I particularly agreed with Adam Curtis on a lot of points, it is nevertheless an interesting documentaryWatch Adam Curtis on the Rise of Computer Technology To Watch Part One Click Here To Watch Part Two Click Here To Watch Part Three Click Here To Hear Adam Curtis interviewed on Loving Grace Films Click Here Ervin Laszlo talking to Deepak Chopra about the holographic universe. Noah Raford created an interesting slideshow on phase transitions. Books I have Read Complexity and Creativity in Organsations by Ralph StaceyThis book was published in 1996 so it is getting a bit old, but it has good information which is well presented. He outlines complex adaptive systems and all their qualities, then shows that human organisations are also complex adaptive systems, but they have other qualities that most complex adaptive systems don't have. Containing anxiety, coping with emotions and dealing with power differentials in particular must be taken into account. |

I found this book at the library waiting for a computer to come free. While it did not say anything new, it presented the information of the importance of developing our emotional wellbeing and how our emotions work within us in a good readable way. I liked underlying spiritual philosophy that gently followed through the book. Game Theory: A Non-technical Introduction by Morton Davis This
small book gives a good background into game theory looking at zero sum
games, non zero sum games and n person games etc. It is non-technical,
but I still found myself needing to reread quiye often to get my head
around the concepts.Chenrezig |
